An increasing number of wildfires in recent years has governors in the West pushing for more federal money to help fight them. As Capital Public Radio's Randol White explains, this requires changes to the way Congress does it's wildfire budgeting.
Favorable weather conditions and a boost in resources have helped firefighters increase containment of the Wildomar Fire from 75 percent Saturday evening (Oct 28) to 90 percent Sunday morning, while holding the blaze to 850 acres burned.
The Wildomar Fire burning near Lake Elsinore and Wildomar has consumed 850 acres and is 50 percent contained. On Friday evening, Oct 27, all evacuations associated with the Wildomar Fire were lifted and residents were allowed to return to their homes. If winds and weather cooperate, authorities anticipate full containment on Monday, Oct. 30.
