On December 2, 2015, those in the conference hall at the Inland Regional Center dove for cover, were deafened by gunfire, and watched friends and colleagues die. Environmental Health Specialist Julie Paez was shot twice that morning. As part of our series on mental health in the aftermath of the terror attack, KVCR's Matt Guilhem spoke to Paez about her recovery and determination to move forward from a few moments of her life.
[ADVISORY: In the following story, there are descriptions of the shooting that may be disturbing to some listeners.]
Matt's series was produced as a project for the California Health Journalism Fellowship, a program of the Center for Health Journalism at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
