A lawsuit has been filed charging that the state of California is harming the health of millions of lower-income residents - particularly Latinos - with Medi-Cal reimbursement rates that are so low that many doctors won't accept them as patients.  More from KVCR's Ken Vincent.

Medi-Cal, the California edition of the federal Medicaid program, turns 50 theis week. A new study shows the health insurance plan for low income residents insures half of the Golden State's children. KVCR's Matt Guilhem has more on the findings and the future of Medi-Cal.

Governor Jerry Brown and the California Legislature have yet to agree on a state budget.  One of the areas of disagreement centers on Medi-Cal reimbursement rates.  The Legislature will vote on its budget plan today (Monday).  Capital Public Radio's Katie Orr reports.

Doctors, insurers, a union and lawmakers are teaming up to push for an increase in Medi-Cal reimbursement rates to providers. They are asking for compensation equal to the federal Medicare program. Capital Public Radio's Health Care Reporter, Pauline Bartolone has more.
