The 5th Annual Lake Arrowhead Mountain Artists Studio Tour will take place this weekend, featuring more than a dozen artists opening their galleries and studios to the public.  It's a fundraiser for the Mountain Artists Network, as KVCR's Ben Purper explains in this feature preview of the event.

Tickets for the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival went on sale today, a day after Coachella announced it's lineup of stage acts this year will be headlined by Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and Radiohead.  KVCR's Ken Vincent reports.

Students in the Theatre Department of San Bernardino Valley College are planning a stage production -- possibly including song, dance, and music -- interpreting the events of the December 2 terror attacks at the Inland Regional Center last year.  If plans pan out, the show would would be performed around the first anniversary of the massacre.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has more.

Part of the mission of the Riverside School of the Arts is to empower, encourage, and uplift students to learn not just about music and dance, but also about the history of life in California.  This week, that history is focused on Cesar Chavez, who -- like many of these students from underprivileged communities -- wanted equal opportunity for all.  Saturday, March 28 from 12 noon to 4 pm, the community is invited to watch history unfold through a series of films about Cesar Chavez and his legacy of progressive reform.  The event will be held in downtown Riverside outside of the UCR Arts B

Playing a musical instrument is something that a lot of people have learned how to do... and that a lot of other people wish they had learned how to do.  Some people might have first learned to play music in school.  These days, music classes are among the first to be cut from lean budgets.  Victor and Fernando Ibarra believe that music is the glue that keeps a family and a community strong.  With the opening of their music center, they hope to spread the joy of playing a musical instrument not just to schools, but to anyone who has the desire to play.  KVCR's Natalya Estrada has more.

Using geometry on a daily basis to carve ice doesn't seem like the coolest career, but when you're chosen to compete in the BP World Ice Art Championships you might change your mind.  Hemet High School teacher John Rodrigues will travel to Fairbanks, Alaska to compete in this year's international competition taking place this month.  KVCR's Natalya Estrada has the story.
