The latest big music festival event set for the Coachella Valley is the Desert Oasis Music Festival on October 8 and 9.  Unlike Coachella, Stagecoach, and last year's inaugural Desert Trip festivals, the Desert Oasis Music Festival will feature reggae, rap, and hip hop acts.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has more on Desert Oasis, and how to try to get tickets to the festival starting today (Friday) at noon.

There are a variety of activities going on over the weekend around the Inland Empire, including the annual Cherry Festival in Beaumont and the Balloon and Wine Festival in the Temecula Valley.  And, even though the inland area's biggest annual festival is still months away, people will be crowding onto the coachella.com website to get their first chance ot tickets for next year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.  More from KVCR's Ken Vincent.

The Indio Police Department has released the incident and arrest statistics for the 2017 Stagecoach Music Festival.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has details.

The 2017 Stagecoach Country Music Festival concluded last night in Indio, meaning that a post-festival traffic jam will slow the flow on the westbound I-10 from the Coachella Valley through the Pass communities into the Inland valleys.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has this Stagecoach wrapup.

Weekend Two of the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival wrapped up late last night.  As thousands of festival goers rise this morning and depart the Coachella Valley, traffic will be jammed for much of today on the I-10 westbound from Indio thru the Inland Empire.  Meanwhile, preparations begin immediately to prepare the festival grounds for next weekend's Stagecoach County Music Festival.  More in this report from KVCR's Ken Vincent.

The second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival kicked off today, with the desert's annual music celebration expected to pack both the Empire Polo Grounds and Inland Empire freeways.  As with Coachella, Weekend Two is pretty much a carbon copy of Weekend One.  This was our story last week, and we're stickin' with it this week.

The first weekend of the two-weekend 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival concluded late last night.  With several thousand more people than ever attending this year's Coachella, traffic jams leaving Indio could be longer than usual, as attendees crowd onto Inland Southern California freeways trying to get home.

Goldenvoice, the organizers of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, has announced that Lady Gaga will step in to fill the headliner position in place of Beyonce, who announced she'll have to take a rain check for performing at Coachella because of her recently-announced pregnancy.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has more.

It's already being dubbed "Oldchella."  Goldenvoice, the promoters of the annual Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals, yesterday confirmed that six of the biggest acts in rock history will perform at a three-day series of concerts called, "The Desert Trip," at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio this coming October.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has details.

Even though his candidacy will be the focus of the event, Vermont U.S. Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will not be able to attend Coachella Festival-adjacent block party to support the Senator's candidacy. 

The event nicknamed "Berniechella," will go on without him, as KVCR's Ken Vincent reports.

Estimates say attendance at the 2016 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio approached 100,000 for the first weekend of the two-weekend festival.  Many of those people woke up from a late night of music last night to hit the road today, forming what has become a traditional Monday-after-Coachella traffic jam on the westbound I-10 through the Coachella Valley into the Inland Empire.
