inciweb.nwcg.gov

UPDATED AT 8:00AM TUESDAY 7/10/18:    The Valley fire, which has been burning in the San Bernardino National Forest near the communities of Forest Falls and Angelus Oaks since Friday, as of this morning (Tuesday) is 13 percent contained at just under 1,400 acres.  Hwy 38 between Bryant St. in Yucaipa and Angelus Oaks remains closed to everyone but those who can prove they’re residents of the Mountain Home/Forest Falls/Angelus Oaks area.  Personnel fighting the Valley Fire was increased from just over 600 to just under 700.  Authorities say firefighters have good containment of the part of the blaze nearest Forest Falls, but fire continues to spread mostly uncontained on its northern flank into the San Gorgonio Wilderness.  The fire was first reported Friday near Highway 38 and Valley of the Falls Drive near Forest Falls.

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
