Firefighters from Cal Fire and other local agencies have managed to get 85 percent containment of the Mias Fire near Banning. The acreage burned has been held at 540 acres since early this week.

The Mias Fire near Banning is increasingly under control, as firefighters from several agencies continue to increase containment ans hold the acreage burned to just over 500 acres. More from KVCR's Ken Vincent.
Because the Blaine Fire burned near populated neighborhoods in Riverside and Moreno Valley, the fire retardant that aircraft have been using to fight the fire has been sprayed on a number of local homes, yards, and cars. The Press-Enterprise this morning reported that Cal Fire is actually willing to return to the retardant-covered neighborhoods and use fire hoses to help spray it off of houses.
