Two major Southern California newspapers, Riverside's Press-Enterprise and the Orange County Register, were recently purchased by Digital First Media. Digital First -- one of the largest newspaper publishing companies in the U.S. -- already had nine other papers across the region. As KVCR's Matt Guilhem reports, the purchase presents a paradox for the two new members of the Southern California News Group: stability and uncertainty.
The deal cementing Digital First Media as the new owner of Riverside's Press-Enterprise and the Orange County Register newspapers closes today. Digital First already owns the San Bernardino Sun, the Redlands Daily Facts, and the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
